How big are XXL/King Size condoms really?
Time and time again we receive emails or telephone inquiries about the actual size of the many condoms that we have in our range that are described as large, extra large, XL, XXL or king size. The manufacturer's information is not always necessarily meaningful; some, for example, measure the length from the ring to the tip of the reservoir - which doesn't make much sense, since the reservoir isn't usable for the penis.
There are similar differences when measuring width - some measure at the very bottom, others in the middle, and still others only measure width at the head.
We have now unpacked and measured 56 different types of our larger and largest condoms - all according to the same specifications:

We measured the length of the condom unrolled as far as possible from the ring or end of the shaft to the end of the usable area at the head; we neglected the length of the reservoir. We measured the width where the narrowest point is - namely at the bottom of the ring or lower end. Latex is a very stretchy material - but at the bottom of the ring it's not quite as stretchy anymore, because the ring is supposed to hold the condom firmly to the base of the penis. So what use is an extra wide head for the large glans if the condom cannot be slipped on because the ring is too tight?
To explain the following table let's make some assumptions first:
The so-called "nominal width", which is specified by the manufacturer, is a measurement that the condom wearer actually cannot measure - it describes the width of the flat (!) condom! So if you unroll a condom and hang it over a ruler, you can read the nominal width... which is hardly something you can do with an erect penis. So, in addition to the nominal width, we also specified the circumference (down at the root) and the diameter - both are value that every man can measure himself (by the way, it's always recommended to buy the condom a little bit smaller than your own dimensions are - otherwise it might slip off...).
Values can vary by +/- 5 mm in length and +/- 2 mm in nominal width; this much tolerance is possible and allowed for a natural product like latex (even the penis as a "natural product" does not have exactly the same size every time, since the state of erection can be influenced by many factors). All dimensions are in millimeters.
However, due to the high elasticity of the material mentioned, these values should only be understood as mean values. The above list only includes products currently in stock and in the most common pack size of each.
