Medical lubricant is of particularly high quality and, in addition to excellent gliding properties, also has caring effects. It moisturizes, relieves intimate discomfort or has a regenerating and strengthening effect.

Lubricant is approved as a medical product if it meets certain (high) requirements for quality, safety and purity. Then it receives the CE mark with the number of the notified body (= this body tested and approved the product) and is therefore a Class IIa medical device. Most lubricants only have a CE mark without a number and therefore belong to Class I. Some lubricants are also cosmetic products and are therefore not CE-certified.

Medical lubricants can not only be used for medical purposes, such as ultrasound scans! Rather, most varieties are intended for use as additional lubrication during sex. Many varieties are also suitable as daily intimate care against vaginal dryness, e.g. during pregnancy or menopause.
